Q. May I bring my pet to Asilomar?
A. Pets are not permitted in any building at Asilomar nor are they permitted to stay or sleep in any vehicle parked on the Asilomar Grounds. It is permissible to walk a pet through the Asilomar Grounds on a leash of not more than 6 feet, however, those are usually local residents and not Asilomar guests. We recommend that pet owners make arrangements to not bring their pet with them to Asilomar.
Q. Are service animals permitted at Asilomar?
A. As service animals are working animals and not considered pets, they are permitted at Asilomar. Service Animals working at Asilomar must be recognizable as such by wearing the approved Service Animal Vest at all times.
Q. When did Asilomar open?
A. Asilomar opened in 1913 as a YWCA Leadership Retreat for young ladies of the time to gain knowledge and skills to enter the workplace.
Q. Are there smoking rooms at Asilomar?
A. Smoking is not permitted in any building on the Asilomar Grounds.
Q. Are meals included in the room rate when I book as a leisure guest?
A. Leisure guests have the option of purchasing a rate that includes either Breakfast only, or all three daily meals. The three meal a day package starts with Dinner on day of arrival and concludes with Lunch on day of departure.
Q. Are there facilities for camping at Asilomar?
A. There are no camping facilities at Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds. Camping is not permitted anywhere on the grounds and campers or RVs are not permitted to park on the grounds.
Q. If I am not part of a group or conference, how early can I reserve a guest room accommodation?
A. Leisure guests (not part of a group or convention) and/or small room blocks of less than 10 rooms per night may book reservations at Asilomar up to 12 months prior to your scheduled arrival date.
