ASILOMAR’S LODGES OFFER COZY ACCOMMODATIONS,
NATURAL SURROUNDINGS
What began as retreat for the YWCA in 1913, is still more than 80 years later, a charming ocean-side getaway for travelers seeking respite and renewal.
Just minutes from Monterey and Carmel, Asilomar Conference Grounds is reminiscent of cozy cabins, days of summer camp in the forest and frolicking by the sea. With 314 secluded guest rooms among 28 lodges, Asilomar is a place for tranquility and harmony free from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Deluxe Lodge accommodations, many with public living rooms and fireplaces for relaxation or group gatherings, are:
Forest Lodge & Woodside: Forest Lodge has 11 one and two-room units, doubles and triples, and fireplaces. Woodside is a two-story lodge with 12 units, each with two double beds, fireplace and balcony. Built in 1980.
Fireside: Offers three, two-story lodges, the Hearth, the Afterglow and the Embers. Each has 12 units with a fireplace and two double beds. Built in 1981.
The East Woods: Also offers three two-story lodges, the Live Oak, Tree Tops and Deer Lodge. Each lodge has 10 guest rooms with one twin bed and one queen bed in each room. Built in 1973.
The North Woods: Comprised of Manzanita, Oak Knoll & Willow Inn. These two-story lodges, each with 12 rooms, offer one queen and single bed, views of the woods or ocean. Built in 1972.
The View Crescent: Include the Whitecaps (two buildings with eight and 12 rooms), the Breakers (with 20 rooms) and Spindrift (two buildings with eight rooms each). These two-story lodges have two double beds, 12 fireplace rooms with double and single beds, balconies or decks and sweeping views. Built in 1968.
The Sea Galaxy: Features the Windward, Shore and Cypress lodges. These two-story lodges have eight rooms each with four twin-bed units, compartmented baths, and balconies or decks with incredible sea views. 10 rooms have fireplaces. Built in 1964.
Surf and Sand: Each with 5 rooms, these sister buildings are an American Institute of Architectsand National Academy of Design winner, offering 10, four twin-bed deluxe rooms with lanai and lovely marine views. Built in 1959.
The Long View Group: North, Middle and South Long View. Each has 10 rooms with two double-beds and private baths. Built in 1966.
The next group of housing are Historic Buildings which have public living rooms with fireplaces and pianos, and hard-wood floors in the cozy guest rooms:
Tide Inn: 10 rooms, each with private baths.
Hill Top: 14 multiple-bed rooms with private baths.
Scripps: 23 rooms, single and double occupancy with private baths.
The Lodge: 18 rooms with private baths.
Conference pricing ranges from $148 to $180 per person, per day, inclusive of all taxes and three daily meals in the Crocker Dining Complex.
As space permits, leisure guests (not attending a conference) are welcome to enjoy Asilomar as a bed & breakfast. Room rates range from $132 to $149, double occupancy, including tax and full country-style breakfast for two. A deposit equal to the first night’s room rate is required and refundable upon 48 hours notice of cancellation.
