MADE FOR MEETINGS LARGE AND SMALL
ASILOMAR IS A PLACE TO RETREAT FROM IT ALL
Serious faces in three-piece suits gather around a boardroom table in a high-rise building to discuss important business of the day. Pressure for more sales. How to build a better mouse trap. At Asilomar Conference Grounds, this same group can unwind with pleasant smiles in the cool breezes of the Pacific Coast ... bond with team building activities in the forest ... and gather around the campfire, instead of the board table, to make the important decisions of the day. Asilomar, the “refuge by the sea,” is a meeting place for inspiration, and innovation.
Harmonizing with its surroundings, Asilomar has played host to thousands of groups since the YWCA’s first campsite meeting in 1913. Situated on the tip of the Monterey Peninsula, Asilomar sprawls on 107pristine acres of natural Monterey pines, graceful shores and meandering dunes. Greeting groups of five to 1,000, the grounds offer 38 private meeting rooms all in walking distance of each other, from the 650-seat Merrill Hall to the intimate 10-seat living rooms found in most guest room lodges. Meetings can begin in the spacious auditorium halls, and then convene to smaller rooms for breakout sessions.
