Executive Chef Colin Moody Inducted to American Culinary Foundation Board
PACIFIC GROVE, CA, January 14, 2005 - Asilomar Conference Grounds' Executive Chef Colin Moody has been recently inducted as a new member of the Board of Directors for the American Culinary Foundation (ACF), Monterey Bay Chapter. Chef Moody will serve as Chairman of the newly formed ACF Conservation Committee - Organic and Sustainable Affairs in addition to serving as co-chair for the 2005 Annual ACF "Chef of the Year" awards dinner.
"Chef Moody has shown a high level of commitment to the ACF and demonstrates great leadership skills," says Michael Gaines, President of the ACF Chapter. "His exemplary dedication to using environmentally sensitive, sustainable and organic products in Asilomar’s culinary operations makes him an ideal choice to head our new, high profile Conservation Committee." One of Chef Moody's first objectives for the Committee will be to negotiate a partnership with the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the ACF's Monterey Bay Chapter.
"Working together is a great way to leverage distributors to carry more organic and sustainable products,” said Chef Moody. “I am very pleased with this ACF honor and hope to inspire this movement on a national level in the future."
Founded in 1929, ACF is the largest and most prestigious professional organization of chefs in the United States. The mission of ACF is to make a positive difference for culinarians through education, apprenticeship, and certification, while creating a fraternal bond of respect and integrity.
