As part of the California State Parks system, our accessible lodging welcomes people with all levels of physical ability. Prior to arrival, visitors with special access needs are invited to contact the Front Desk at 831.372.8016. If for any reason we’re unable to accommodate you, we’ll gladly recommend other hotels with facilities that meet your individual needs.
Improved Access for the Disabled
A long-term project to upgrade Asilomar to meet the guidelines set by the American with Disabilities Act as well as state and federal laws has taken place. Improvements completed include:
- Renovated public restrooms in the Phoebe A. Hearst Social Hall, Crocker Dining Hall, Merrill Hall, Chapel Auditorium, Chapel, Pirates’ Den, Nautilus, Triton, and Surf & Sand Meeting Room, Mott Training Center.
- Stage lifts at Merrill Hall and Chapel Auditorium
- Accessible lift at the swimming pool
- Accessible picnic and campfire area
- New exterior handrails at Chapel Auditorium and Scripps/Lodge area
- Beach wheelchair for accessibility to Asilomar State Beach
